we are in terrible problem due to blockage of cheeper services like skype, yahoo pc to phone, Voip services. We are in emiorates where call charges are on peek and we are living in humdrum sort of exsistence.
It is strongly requested to reopen the service as we be in ease to contacting to our love ones.
It is out of sence that why Etisalate in spite of having big revenue generating in thier filed doing such kind of shamful acts to block the sites which are a bit cheeper.

I feel your sentiments. I too upset over the blockade. the governement should lift this ban very soon keeping interest of the millions of VoIP customers.

a friend of mine can still access yahoo messenger voice service in his pc. i tried the same settings on mine but it wont work. any idea how?? i prefer it than skype coz its cheaper.

It is very harsh step etisalat is taking, should be more generous, as it is already generating a lot of extra revenues from expats in \uae, should allow skype and yahoo pc to phone, would appreciate the lift of ban

In fact, it is quite embarrassing to ban VoIP services in UAE. Etisalat’s stand on VoIP is quite condemnable. If Etisalat wants to control the offshore service providers, it is not the definitive step to ban them. The incumbent telecoms should bring changes in the telecom policy where users can enjoy VoIP under the scanner of Etisalat.

No one can block Voip. Get your dialing software downloaded from any silent surfing website and do the rest. On my PC phoneserve as well as Skype working very well.

It is tru no one can block voip in UAE or any where I have all of them working Skype/Phoneserve/Net2phone/My Webcall/Sipgate/Inphonex/Voiptalk/ and many many others, it is just a matter of tunneling that would beat your ISP just like a frog killing an elephant when it enters his or her trunk, the best I have tried so far is RealTunnel which works very well with sip Voip and it is for free, so you dont need expensive Vpn, I am only left with an Ip Phone which I still can not make it register, if any one knows the trick without paying any fees please let me know, at the meantime I am very fine with my softphones they are super clear.
