It's heartening to see that Orissa is now catching up with the rest of the world in online journalism. The vernacular languages need to be represented well on the Internet. Else it becomes extremely hard for information dissemination.

yes true all vernacular languages must be used in internet, it will develop effective communication and will give a whole new perspective. Tamil for example has used internet to a great level, we have ,many Tamil sites, online business and educational platforms. Many Tamil people get not only connected but also promoted by internet.

Bravo! Such moves are truly commendable. It’s really cool to know that now there is a complete portal that deals with news, social networking etc. I think this will also boost the morale of many people and will be a good opportunity for them to express their views in the language they are most comfortable in. The whole concept of an online community for Oriyas is awesome, it’s an indication that we are rapidly progressing.

If Citizen Journalism has to get some credibility then language should not be a restriction. Vernacular languages form the backbone of local news dissemination and when presented in its vernacular reflects the true essence of the event and in the right spirit.
